SAPCA – VOICE OF HEALTH PROFESSIONALS

South African Professionals Conduct Association (SAPCA) consists of practising advocates, accredited Legal Practitioners and Health professionals throughout the nine provinces of the Republic of South Africa. SAPCA was established to play an active role in guiding policy implementation as a result of the National Health Insurance and health challenges as a result Covid – 19, access to health facilities and the business of health post the pandemic.

Members of SAPCA are lawyers, nurses, dentists, general medical practitioners, medical specialists, physiotherapists and pharmacies etc. As the voice of health professionals, SAPCA defends, protects legal and business interests of health professionals e.g. in matters before Health Professionals Council of South Africa (HPCSA), Nursing Council and guiding formulation and implementation of health policies.

SAPCA also does placement of Locums, nurses, medical general practitioners and health specialists. SAPCA also provides advisory legal and health services to health professionals in the formulation, development and support of policies which advance the business of health professionals including access to finance, joint ventures and business projects in South Africa, throughout the Continent and outside the Continent.

In advancing the interests of health professionals and health policy, SAPCA will liaise with alike organisations, companies, municipalities, multilateral companies, State Owned Enterprises and government departments and Traditional Leaders. SAPCA believes that it is in South Africa’s best to improve working conditions of health professionals as a whole.

LEADERSHIP

Adv Leks Makua – South African Professionals Conduct Association – President

Adv Leks Makua is a registered with Legal Practice Council and is a member of Johannesburg Society of Advocates. Served as Public Prosecutor, National Legal Officer of National Union of Metalworkers of South Africa, NEHAWU, CCMA Commissioner, member of Tshwane University Council, Associate Member of Australian Centre of International Commercial Arbitration and Commissioner of the National Planning Commissioner in RSA Presidency. He is member of advocates for Transformation and National Association of Democratic Lawyers. He previously served as Chairperson of Health Professionals Council of South Africa (HPCSA) and Nursing Council Disciplinary Committees.

He acted as a Judge in the Labour Court. His legal practice involves dispute resolution, medical malpractice, HPCSA professional misconduct cases and Medical Schemes disputes on behalf of Council of Medical Schemes and further on behalf of Medical Schemes.

Her Royal Highness Kgoshigadi Raphahlelo

SAPCA 1st Deputy President – Her Royal Highness Kgoshigadi Raphahlelo

Kgoshigadi Raphahlelo is Deputy Leader of CONTRALESA. Before assuming her reign of the Raphahlelo Royal Authority, she practiced as a registered and professional nurse for many years in the Department of Health.

Professor Malegapuru Makgoba

Professor Malegapuru William Makgoba was awarded by the President of South Africa with the Order of Mapungubwe in Silver for his dedication and excellent contribution to the field of science and medicine, locally and internationally; and for his contribution to the building of democracy in South Africa. He is the first Health Ombudsman – Republic of South Africa. He is also the Deputy Chair of the National Planning Commision – The RSA Presidency.
